Security Operation Dispatcher

Amentum is seeking a Security Operations Dispatcher to support our team in the Williamsburg, Virginia area. This critical position provides 24/7/365 operational coverage, including nights, weekends, and holidays, ensuring continuous support to emergency and security operations across the site. The Security Operations Dispatcher plays a vital role in maintaining the safety and security of personnel and property. This role is responsible for receiving, prioritizing, and responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, coordinating with police, fire, medical, and other emergency service units. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, sound judgment under pressure, and the ability to operate multiple technical systems simultaneously.

Job Requirements:

  • Operate two-way radio systems, multi-line telephone consoles, computer-based dispatch platforms, and other communication equipment to receive and process incoming requests for assistance.
  • Dispatch police, fire, EMS, security, and other specialized personnel and resources to emergency scenes or locations where assistance is required.
  • Interview callers using established protocols to determine the nature of the incident, urgency, and appropriate response units, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in triage.
  • Review and monitor status boards, unit availability charts, and computer systems to identify and deploy the closest and most appropriate resources.
  • Provide pre-arrival instructions using approved emergency medical guidelines when necessary until first responders reach the scene.
  • Monitor and interpret alarm system indicators for fire, intrusion, or other emergencies, initiating timely responses and documenting all alarm-related activities.
  • Input and update information in computer systems to maintain accurate logs, incident records, and daily activity reports.
  • Conduct routine testing of communication equipment, alarm systems, and backup systems to ensure operational readiness.
  • Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures in collaboration with the site Security Office.
  • Prepare the Daily Tour of Duty report and perform various administrative tasks in support of Security and Emergency Services functions.
  • Route calls and inquiries to appropriate site departments or external agencies as needed.
  • Issue replacement hotel room keys to authorized visitors and maintain accurate logs.
  • Manage and track issuance of master keys to authorized personnel in accordance with security protocols.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under stressful or emergency conditions
  • Active government-issued security clearance at the time of application

Service Contract Act (SCA) Compensation & Benefits:

This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act. The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.
