Description:
Responsibilities You will manage employee schedules, timesheets, time off requests, training, self-improvement and much more as part of our management team. You will receive extensive training on communication, personal improvement, accountability, finances, life skills and many other qualities and values to help you become the best version of yourself. You will also assist with basic living and social skills, assistance with progress toward individuals' personal goals, accomplishing errands and tasks, and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of these individuals. You will participate in community activities and outings, such as hiking, movies, lake days, water sports, side‑by‑side trips, schooling, community services and more.
Training Provided
Be able to stay calm and avoid power struggles
Be willing and physically able to assist clients using the restroom and staying safe
Show empathy when a client is overwhelmed
Cheer them on as they take steps forward
Be thick‑skinned
Have fun and be active in the community
Proficient in redirecting, de‑escalating situations and handling problem behaviors
Requirements
Ability to exercise restraint/self-control in potentially volatile situations, including being confronted verbally and/or physically in a threatening or aggressive manner by people receiving support.
Must be able to kneel, hold, and lift/carry at least 50 lbs from the floor in order to physically assist and/or restrain people as part of their behavior support plan and also be able to complete required restraint training—unless approved by the Safety Care trainer(s)/Redhead Supports management and assigned to a home with a person with a low need of physical restraint.
Must be able to assist people in activities of daily living, hygiene, and cleaning of their home and/or property.
Patience and the ability to adapt to the challenges of assisting some people with daily living skills that may involve repetition and long time effort before results are achieved.
Ability to greet the public and use the telephone.
Ability to quickly respond to health, safety, and emergency situations.
Ability to work under stressful conditions that may include dealing with difficult people and handling multiple work assignments.
Must have a GED or High School Diploma.
