Please review the job details below. Lanteris Space is currently seeking a Space Environments Engineer located in our Palo Alto, CA offices. Space environments is comprised of various roles that contribute to the development, production, and test of satellites. These roles apply knowledge of particle radiation, micrometeoroid and orbital debris, atomic oxygen, electromagnetic compatibility, electromagnetic interference, electrostatic discharge, and charging phenomena. An ideal candidate will be seeking experience working in space applications for unit and spacecraft qualification. This is a requisition for summer of 2024 intern positions with involvement in the design, analysis, and production of satellites. As a Space environments engineer you will work on some or all of the following areas: Single event effects analysis Data processing Total dose analysis Displacement damage analysis Unit EMC testing Magnetic analysis Requirements verification Venting analysis
Minimum requirements for this position: Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident A bachelor’s degree program in engineering, physics or related discipline with or currently enrolled in a master's degree program
These skills would be amazing:
- Understanding of GEO, LEO, and interplanetary environments
- Understanding of space environments analysis
- Venting Radiation EMC Atomic Oxygen MMOD
- Understanding of trade studies
- Understanding of requirements flow
- Good verbal and written communication, organization, project/time management, and leadership skills are essential, as well as attention to detail.
In support of pay transparency at Lanteris Space Systems, we disclose salary ranges on all U.S. job postings. The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. The base pay for this position within California is: $77,000.00 - $128,000.00 annually. For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
