Student Pastor/Minister
Principal Function The Student Pastor is responsible for envisioning, planning, implementing, growing, and evaluating Belle Aire’s ministry to students (Grade 6 through Grade 12).
Specific Responsibilities
Discipleship
Oversee the discipleship programs for the student ministry. Ensure that the programs and activities of the student ministry glorify God, support the mission of Belle Aire, and are designed to inspire in the students an increasing love for and obedience to God and His Word.
Teach parents how to raise their students in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
Ensure that new believers in the student ministry are baptized and discipled.
Outreach
Plan, coordinate, and conduct outreach events for students in the community, including campus outreach to middle schools and high schools in the area.
Teach believing students how to be effective evangelists for Christ.
Personally evangelize on a regular basis.
Inreach
Contact and minister to guests (and guest families) in the student ministry.
Minister to families with students who are sick, hospitalized, or in crisis. Provide counsel, comfort, and encouragement to students who are suffering and to their family members, as appropriate.
Develop appropriate mentoring relationships.
Communicate ongoing events and student ministry programming to families using appropriate tools, including but not limited to social media, email, and texting services.
Follow up with students and families who are absent for several weeks and have a plan for tracking them.
Leadership Development
Discover, recruit, train and develop a team of volunteers to serve as teachers, assistant teachers, and chaperones, as needed. Screen all potential volunteers.
Oversee the Student Ministry Leadership team. Develop a plan to utilize student leaders, and recruit volunteers for needed teams.
Administration
Develop and manage the student ministry budget.
Fully implement all child safeguarding policies into the student ministry.
Supervise the Student Ministry Assistant, providing clear direction and communication.
Personal Growth
Grow in your personal walk with the Lord. Faithfully practice the spiritual disciplines of Bible study, prayer, worship, stewardship, evangelism, fellowship, fasting, and service.
Pursue opportunities for professional development.
Qualifications
A born-again believer in Jesus Christ
Demonstrates a vital and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
Adheres to the Belle Aire Baptist Church Doctrinal Statement
Meets the requirements of 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:5-9, and 1 Peter 5:1-3
Has a minimum of 3 years of experience directing a student ministry
Seminary degree preferred (M. Div. or M.A.C.E. or equivalent)
Status: Full-time, salaried, exempt
Supervises: Student Ministry Assistant
Reports To: Senior Pastor
