Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Specialist will provide purchased materials and supplies and manage and develop the vendor base across our satellite and technology programs at our Irvine, CA, location. This role will collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, managers, and other stakeholders to maintain and status the execution of projects and prepare performance evaluation reports.Key Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for all company-wide Purchasing functionsCreate, Manage, and Closeout Requisitions/Purchase OrdersInteract with interdepartmental staff, vendors, and management to fulfill purchase requestsObtain proper approvals and manage exceptionsMatch PO, Invoices, Credit Card Orders, and Receipt documentsProcess PO closeout functions in the company systemInteract with receiving staff, accounting, and order-placing departmentManage and enforce company credit policy as it applies to purchase transactionsPerform cash, purchasing, and project management analysis by collecting, monitoring, and studying data; recommending actions. Track expenses and revenues vs. budget and forecast and analyze fluctuationsProvide creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performanceRecommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses, studying proposed changes in methods and operationsProtect operations by keeping financial information confidentialContribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as neededConsult with management to guide and influence long-term and strategic decision-making within the broadest scopeDrive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the functionAnalyze current and past performancePrepare reports and projections based on this analysisCoordinate with other members of the Finance, Project, and Executive team to review purchasing information and forecastDevelop, maintain, and distribute ad hoc reports as neededTravel to vendors required (up to 40%), as necessaryQualifications and Skills BS degree in a related field or equivalent experience is requiredMinimum 3 years of experienceExperience in the Aerospace, Defense, or Investment Banking industry a plusUnderstanding project management and program budget is very helpfulAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel & PowerPoint)Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, and financial software applicationsWorking knowledge of various corporate systems: JIRA and Confluence collaboration toolsExcellent organizational and prioritization skillsAbility to complete projects promptly is criticalAbility to influence, persuade, and negotiateOutstanding presentation, reporting, and communication skillsAbility to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentSupplier Onboarding Processing experienceU.S. Person or lawful permanent resident to comply with U.S. government space technology export regulationsYour actual level and base salary will be determined case-by-case and may vary based on the job-related qualification, knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
