Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDirect Counsel represents a prestigious AmLaw firm seeking an International Trade Associate with 5–7 years of experience to join its Governmental Practice Group in Southern California. This position may be based in San Diego, Del Mar, Los Angeles, Century City, or Orange County, with preference given to candidates located in or willing to relocate to Orange County, Los Angeles, or Century City.This opportunity is ideal for an attorney with substantial international trade experience who is interested in advising clients on complex sanctions, export controls, customs, foreign investment, and regulatory compliance matters within a nationally recognized practice.Responsibilities:Advise clients on international trade compliance and regulatory mattersHandle matters involving export controls, sanctions, customs law, and foreign investment reviewsConduct legal research and analysis related to U.S. and international trade regulationsAssist clients with compliance involving EAR, ITAR, OFAC, CFIUS, customs regulations, and trade agreementsDraft legal memoranda, compliance guidance, and regulatory filingsCommunicate with regulatory agencies and support clients in investigations and enforcement mattersCollaborate with attorneys across practice groups on cross-border and regulatory mattersQualifications:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school5–7 years of international trade law experienceLarge law firm or relevant government agency experience preferredExperience with at least three of the following areas strongly preferred:Export controls (EAR/ITAR)Foreign investment reviews (CFIUS)Economic sanctions and embargoesCustoms lawInternational trade agreementsAntidumping and countervailing duties (AD/CVD)Excellent research, analytical, writing, and communication skillsStrong academic credentials requiredLicensed and in good standing with the California BarRequired Application Materials:ResumeCover LetterLaw School TranscriptCompensation & Benefits:Salary range: $310,000 – $390,000 annuallyCompetitive bonus structure and comprehensive benefits packageJob Type:
