Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Academic Dean with a strong background in private high school academic leadership. The ideal candidate will have recent, hands-on experience in overseeing academic programs, faculty management, and curriculum development, and is highly proficient in building and managing systems such as Canvas.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Programs & Scheduling

Oversee and design the academic curriculum frameworkDevelop and manage the master scheduleCoordinate academic pathways including:AP / Honors / ECP / Regular programsFaculty Management

Supervise and support teaching staffConduct classroom observations and provide instructional feedbackLead faculty evaluation and professional development initiativesInstructional Quality & Policies

Monitor and ensure teaching quality and academic standardsEstablish and maintain grading policies and academic guidelinesEnsure consistency and rigor across departmentsCurriculum Development & Systems

Lead curriculum planning and course developmentWork closely with systems such as:Canvas (LMS setup and optimization)Blackbaud and/or other SIS platformsCollaborate on transcript policies and grading systemsTeaching Responsibilities

Teach a limited number of courses as neededQualifications

Required:

Prior experience as an Academic Dean (or similar leadership role) in a private high school settingExperience must be recent and directly relevant (not outdated)Strong experience with Canvas (LMS setup, structure, and management)Deep understanding of U.S. high school academic systems (AP, Honors, etc.)Preferred:

Familiarity with Blackbaud or other SIS systemsExperience in transcript policies and academic complianceStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsAdditional Information
