Job Overview Location: Avera Cancer Institute – Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Worker Type: Regular; Work Shift: Day Shift (United States of America).

Pay Range: $27.75 - $46.25 per hour (actual rate depends on experience).

Position Highlights: This position supports patients and teams across our South Dakota Avera Cancer Institute locations. The primary role is infusion, with back‑fill duty in clinic as needed. Travel may be required across the South Dakota locations (Mitchell, Yankton, Pierre, Aberdeen, Sioux Falls); the primary location will be the closest institute to the applicant's home address.

Responsibilities

Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions; communicate nursing care plans and all pertinent information to other members of the health‑care team; coordinate with other healthcare providers; provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends; conferring with physicians.

Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories; examining patients; documenting patient condition; establishing nursing diagnoses; setting objectives and interventions; scheduling and timetables.

Teach healthcare requirements by establishing patient‑care goals; instruct patients and families on condition, medications and self‑care skills; answer questions; provide information and resources.

Evaluate patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes; reviewing records; noting changes and re‑evaluating objectives; modifying the care plan.

Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by following infection‑control policies, medication administration and storage procedures, controlled‑substance regulations, organizational standards, and legal regulations; alert others to potential concerns.

Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.

Keep patient‑care equipment operating by following instructions, troubleshooting, maintaining supplies, performing preventative maintenance, and calling for repairs.

Keep patient‑care supplies ready by checking stock, anticipating needs, placing orders, verifying receipt, and stocking items.

Required Qualifications Registered Nurse (RN) – Board of Nursing with an active state license.

On‑site and ONS Fundamentals Provider Card – Oncology Nursing Society within 1 year of hire.

ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card – Oncology Nursing Society within 1 year of hire.

Physical ability to perform essential job functions, including adequate visual acuity and communication skills. Reasonable accommodations may be made.

Preferred Qualifications Prior oncology experience.
