Pediatric Hospitalist: 24/7 Inpatient Care & Leadership Path

Job Overview Prisma Health Medical Group - Upstate is seeking a full‑time Pediatric Hospitalist, with opportunities for leadership roles. The ideal candidate will be board eligible or board certified in General Pediatrics or Pediatric Hospital Medicine and will provide care at Prisma Health Oconee Memorial Hospital, a satellite campus of Children’s Hospital.

Key Responsibilities

Rural, full‑Spectrum pediatric hospital medicine program with strong ties to a tertiary academic children’s hospital

Collaborative multidisciplinary team with pediatric‑trained nurses, respiratory therapists, and a certified Pediatric Ready ER

Inpatient‑focused care for newborns through adolescents with 24/7 in‑house coverage

Newborn care includes circumcisions, high‑risk delivery support, and Level I–II nursery management (down to 32 weeks), with telehealth collaboration with neonatology

Additional responsibilities include ER consults and surgical co‑management

Manageable census of 8–12 patients/day across pediatric unit and nurseries

Flexible shift model with 24/7 coverage and strong work‑life balance

Subspecialty support via telemedicine and regional satellite clinics

Teaching opportunities with Family Medicine and Pediatric residents, plus medical students

Academic appointment with USC School of Medicine

Qualifications

Board eligible or board certified in General Pediatrics or Pediatric Hospital Medicine
