Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Title: Senior Firmware Engineer Location: Taunton, MA Type: Contract 2+ years Compensation: $64.00 - $74.00/hr Clearance Required: Secret ResponsibilitiesDesign and implement bare-metal firmware in C for ARM Cortex-M and other microcontroller architecturesDevelop drivers and low-level interfaces for peripherals including SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO, ADC, PWM, and timer modulesProfile and optimize code for performance, power consumption, and memory constraintsWork closely with hardware engineers, systems architects, and product teams to translate requirements into firmware solutionsUse oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, debuggers (SWD, JTAG), and embedded testing frameworks to validate firmware functionalityRequirementsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experienceDepartment of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire; U.S. citizenship is mandatory due to the nature of workExperience with designing and implementing firmware for autonomous undersea systems or similar complex projectsStrong collaboration and communication skills, with a proven ability to lead design teamsKnowledge of R&D processes, with a focus on innovation and applying AI for continuous improvementSystem One, and its subsidiaries including Joulé and Mountain Ltd., are leaders in delivering outsourced services and workforce solutions across North America.
