Role Summary

Responsibilites

4. Engages with internal stakeholders to understand and probe business processes in order to develop hypotheses. Brings structure to requests and translates requirements into an analytic approach.
5. Guides test design, research design, and model validation. Provides statistical consultation services. Serves as the analytics expert on cross functional teams for large strategic initiatives and contributes to the growth of the Vanguard analytic community.
6. Prepares and delivers insight presentations and action recommendations. Communicates complex analytical findings and implications to business leaders.
7. Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
8. Designs scalable data mining models and reporting protocols to identify trends and patterns in massive datasets.
9. Applies modern and emerging data science techniques to solve business problems across functions such as marketing, economics, and operations.
10. Contributes to the advancement of analytics through exploratory research and application of cutting-edge statistical theory.
Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of five years related work experience in analytical roles. Experience with data wrangling required - Programming skills to access, transform and prepare large scale data for statistical modeling. Experience utilizing statistical and machine learning methods required.
  • Undergraduate degree in Analytics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or related analytical field of study or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree preferred.
  • Expertise in programming with Python, R, or SQL; hands-on experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow); strong understanding of data pipelines, data wrangling, and statistical techniques; experience in big data environments (Spark/Hadoop); familiarity with visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI

Organization & Team Overview 

Enterprise Business Intelligence is a center of excellence comprised of Engineers, Analysts, Scientists, and Machine Learning experts working to translate Comcast’s data into actionable intelligence that drives profitable growth for the company. As a member of this team, you’ll be at the forefront of developing data driven strategies to address business problems. 

Role Description 

Responsible for extracting knowledge and insights from high volume, high dimensional data in order to investigate complex business problems through a range of data preparation, modeling, analysis and/or visualization techniques, which may include the use of advanced statistical analysis, algorithms, predictive modeling, experimentation and pattern recognition to create solutions that enable enhanced business performance. Designs, develops and programs methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse “big data” sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement. 

The team is composed of experts in artificial intelligence, deep learning, data-structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and system performance and analysis. In your role you will develop predictive models that power systems and provide insights to business leaders for critical decisions. You will measure and quantify the impact of business strategies on key business performance indicators.

Job Responsibilities 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:  

  • Interacts with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments. 

  • Develops and codes software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources. 

  • Uses analytical rigor and statistical methods to analyze large amounts of data, extracting actionable insights using advanced statistical techniques such as data analysis, data mining, optimization tools and machine learning techniques and statistics (e.g., predictive models, lifetime value, propensity models). 

  • Develops and executes statistical and mathematical solutions to business problems to support larger initiatives under the direction of senior team members. 

  • Creates data mining architectures/models/protocols, statistical reporting, and data analysis methodologies to identify trends in large data sets. 

  • Works with large, noisy, and complex datasets to produce analysis of historical patterns in customer behaviors and product performance from complex real-world behavioral data. 

  • Develops and deploys predictive models based on historical data that provide future predictions about customer behavior. 

  • Constructs forecasts, recommendations and strategic/tactical plans based on applying data science techniques to business data. 

  • Researches and applies knowledge of existing and emerging data science principles, theories, and techniques to inform business decisions. 

  • Creates deliverables and presentations that report methodology and results of analysis. 

  • Builds customer centric models and optimization tools to support large scale projects that utilize online and offline data, structured and unstructured data, set top box data and media/behavioral/attitudinal data. 

  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. 

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

Preferred Skills 

  • Proficiency with Python, PySpark, and ML programming frameworks 

  • Proficiency retrieving data using SQL 

  • Understanding of statistical foundations for Experimentation 

  • Understanding of predictive modeling concepts 

  • Ability to articulate complex ideas in a simplified form 

  • Understanding of data visualization concepts and programming frameworks 

  • Preferred Majors: Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics 

Minimum Qualifications and Eligibility Requirements 

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from Drexel University, with a cooperative learning track. 

  • Available to work 40 hours per week for 6 months starting September 22, 2026, through March 26, 2027. 

  • Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs 

  • Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting

Job overview and responsibilities
Provides mathematical modeling and analysis services to support critical financial, operational, and/or strategic planning decisions and engages in supporting project teams in value added activities that generate practical solutions to complex business problems, explores new business alternatives, and drives improvement in business decisions

  • Develops the approach and methods to define and solve management problems through quantitative analysis and analytical models using operations research, machine learning, and structured programming languages
  • Identifies, researches, or solves large complex problems using big data and operations research and machine learning principles
  • Leverages understanding of the business process to identify and implement operations research solutions that will result in significant bottom-line contributions
  • Builds and develops operations research/optimization mathematical model applications, and provides client support leveraging operations research knowledge

  • Coursework or work experience in model prototyping through use of optimization toolkit(s) including CPLEX, AMPL, or OPL
  • Coursework or work experience with C, C++, Java, R, Python, or other structured programming language
  • Good business, technical, verbal/written communication, presentation and sales skills. Adaptability to changing business environment
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact with clients

The base pay range for this role is $117,610.00 to $153,146.00.


The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
