Minimum Qualifications 

  • Current dental hygienist license in Texas and an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene (where required)
  • Excellent working knowledge of dentistry, dental hygiene procedures, dental patient screening and medical history documentation
  • CPR Certification

 

Preferred Experience

  • Open to new grads
  • Experience using Velscope, Diagnodent, digital scanner, digital x-rays and electronic medical record systems
  • Desire to continue learning and grow clinical skills to meet needs of patients and provide preventative care and overall maintenance of patients’ dental health

Position Summary

The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides compassionate, hands-on care to children and adolescents with autism and developmental disabilities. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and reporting to the Director of Nursing (DON), the LVN assists with medication administration, supports behavioral interventions, and helps maintain the structured environment essential for patient safety and progress.

This role requires patience, consistency, and the ability to work with patients who may have behavioral, emotional, or developmental challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients with autism and developmental disabilities
  • Administer medications and document responses according to physician orders and facility standards
  • Support behavioral interventions and individualized treatment plans
  • Participate in daily routines, therapeutic programming, and educational activities
  • Observe and document patient behavior, participation, and physical condition in the EHR
  • Respond to patient crises using approved de-escalation techniques
  • Communicate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members

Qualifications
