While payroll is our primary area of concentration, the team also lends its expertise to other operational areas as needed applying the same disciplined approach to process optimization, data quality, and automation. By combining accounting knowledge, analytical insight, and technology enablement, we deliver scalable solutions that strengthen controls and drive continuous improvement across the organization.

As a Reporting Analyst Co‑op on the Quality Assurance & Automation team, you will focus on analyzing, improving, and scaling processes within Payroll Operations, with a strong emphasis on payroll data, reporting accuracy, and quality assurance. You will collaborate with Payroll Operations and cross‑functional partners to design efficient, technology‑enabled solutions that support reliable payroll outcomes.

You will tackle complex, real‑world challenges like identifying process gaps, defining quality standards, translating technical data into actionable insights, and building scalable solutions that support long‑term system architecture. Much of the work involves diagnosing risks, improving controls, and measuring whether new processes actually deliver results.

Where can this student make an impact?

Students can make a meaningful impact by helping streamline processes, reduce manual effort, and improve data integrity across payroll and other accounting functions. Your contributions will directly support operational efficiency, cross‑team alignment, and the success of new systems and automation initiatives.

Organization & Team Overview

The suite of Construction and Design Tools (P2, ECAF, Iris, ROCI, etc.) supports nationwide network construction and operations, enabling workflow orchestration, reporting, analytics, and capacity planning. This role is ideal for students interested in program management, portfolio management, delivery, change management, and strategic coordination across technology teams.

Role Description

As a Technical Program & Portfolio Management CoOp, you will support program-level planning, portfolio visibility, progress tracking, and cross-team alignment across the ION team’s initiatives. Enhancing Cross-Team Coordination: This co-op will sit across multiple teams and be able to identify areas of interdependencies.

Optimizing Processes and Documentation: An intern with a fresh perspective is uniquely positioned to re-envision outdated or confusing processes.

Program Management Support

  • Assist program managers with planning and tracking multi-sprint or multi-quarter initiatives
  • Support preparation and facilitation of program ceremonies
  • Maintain program artifacts such as timelines, CRAID logs, and status dashboards
  • Help identify cross-team dependencies and surface risks or blockers

Portfolio Management & Governance

  • Assist in collecting data from delivery teams to build accurate portfolio reporting
  • Help standardize documentation across teams (requirements, intake forms, program updates, etc.)
  • Participate in portfolio review meetings and help prepare presentations and summaries

Delivery & Reporting

  • Track progress toward key milestones and produce recurring and ad hoc reports
  • Organize cross-functional information in Confluence and other knowledge-sharing tools
