Oncor (together with its subsidiaries) operates the largest transmission and distribution system in Texas, delivering power to nearly 4 million homes and businesses and operating more than 145,000 miles of transmission and distribution lines in Texas.</p>Position Summary<p>As a Protection &amp; Control (P&amp;C) Engineering Specialist II- Sr at Oncor, you’ll install, test, troubleshoot, and commission P&amp;C equipment, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems and associated communication devices while providing leadership and guidance to other technicians within Oncor and contract to ensure proper operation of system protection relaying schemes and SCADA systems to eliminate or limit damage, prevent the spread of system disturbances, reduce the number and duration of customer outages, and to minimize the probability of an ultimate cascading electrical system blackout. This role will also aid in the effort to meet Oncor’s financial targets from a construction and commissioning standpoint.</p>Key Responsibilities<ul><li>Install and supervise the installation/commissioning of protection and control facilities, modify designs as needed, test and calibrates protection schemes and SCADA equipment, and provide direction for the technical aspects of substation construction projects in transmission switching stations, load serving substations, generation switchyards, and interconnection facilities with other companies to insure that the appropriate protection and control facilities are installed safely without adversely affecting electric service.</li><li>Support Construction Management and District construction schedules.</li><li>Support Transmission Project Management Office (TPMO) by tracking progress, updating, and maintaining construction tools approved by Oncor technology.</li><li>Assigns both Oncor and contract Technicians to tasks in order to develop their performance skills and experience level.</li><li>Provides direction and dictates the scope of work for construction projects.</li><li>Responsible for managing/submitting station outages, procedure preparation/review, and ensuring all test data is captured and submitted to maintain compliance and proper commissioning of protective relaying equipment.</li><li>Develop testing plans and tests and installs protective relaying equipment, relaying schemes, associated communication equipment, and SCADA systems to ensure that P&amp;C facilities operate as designed and to ensure system integrity and the reliable and secure operation of the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) bulk power transmission grid and the power delivery system.</li><li>Monitor and analyzes the performance of the protection and control system, analyzes digital fault recorder information, investigates questionable operation, troubleshoots and repairs the protection and control system, and recommends programmatic solutions as needed to ensure system integrity and the reliable and secure operation of the ERCOT bulk power transmission grid and the power delivery system.</li><li>Develop written procedures for use by both Oncor and contract P&amp;C Technicians to help ensure that construction activities are conducted safely without unnecessary system exposure, customer interruption, or facility interruption.</li><li>Provide technical direction to Oncor and contract resources for mobile equipment installation to help insure the safe reliable operation of the transmission system while using for construction activities.</li><li>Provide technical direction and performs emergency protection system modifications and high voltage switching to restore electrical service without unsafely exposing the electrical system.</li><li>Actively participate in the technical development of other technicians under their charge.</li><li>Supervises and provides guidance for multiple groups throughout construction projects.</li><li>Performs periodic employee reviews regarding performance relative to performance expectations.</li><li>Performs all essential aspects and functions of the job as well as any other specific job requirements.</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Candidates must thoroughly demonstrate proficiency in electrical/electronic theory and computer hardware and software skills.</li><li>Candidates should have demonstrated leadership skills.</li></ul>Education &amp; Responsibilities
<ul>
<li>Complete certification process according to company standards.</li>
<li>Take digital pictures of certified vehicles for uploading to the Car Sales internet using the company platform</li>
<li>Identify and enter the vehicle attributes into the company platform</li>
<li>Print and apply vehicle materials – FTCs (Federal Trade Commission), Price Stickers and Feature Sheets</li>
<li>Move vehicles to ensure lot remains organized for efficiency or off lot for reconditioning</li>
<li>Conduct a quality assurance review of vehicle after reconditioning is complete</li>
<li>Inspect vehicle quality and cleanliness while on dealership lots</li>
<li>Replace missing trim parts to maintain vehicle appearance</li>
<li>Perform car detail/cleaning and touch-up as needed</li>
<li>Walk dealership lot and pick up any debrisExhibit a professional appearance and comply with all uniform and PPE (personal protective equipment) requirements</li>
<li>Adhere to local environmental regulations</li>
<li>Seek to improve job performance through self-assessment, skill development, training and goal setting</li>
<li>Maintain a regular and reliable level of attendance and punctuality</li>

Qualifications
